Design Space
In the early days of mass production, when you could buy a Ford model T in any color so long as it was black, design was often seen as an optional extra. Not anymore. Today, designers craft everything presented to you. Armed with an array of digital design software and an insight into the psychological effects of design, they can make all the difference to the commercial success of a product. Furthermore, creative design plays an important role throughout the entire process of making, marketing, selling, and retailing a product.
One of the most frustrating aspects of design for beginners is that those tools are often very expensive and difficult to master. Having this type of hands-on learning environment allows students, staff, and even faculty to get the jump on trends, learn new skills, create new and innovative ways of presenting their ideas, or start a new hobby. This enhances each student’s degree plan and sets them up to stand out to potential employers.
The Design Space provides many industry standard tools and software for students to experiment with and learn.
